Knight Optical Ceramic Ball Lenses
We stock a range of ceramic balls ranging from 0.83mm to 45mm in diameter. Our ceramic balls are made from aluminium oxide (Al2O3), zirconium oxide (ZrO¬2) and silicon nitride (Si3N4).
All our aluminium oxide ceramic balls are extremely hard, resistant to abrasion, and can withstand high temperatures and pressures. They can be used in valves, chemical pumps, bearings, flowmeters.. etc.
Our zirconium oxide ceramic balls have good resistance to high temperature, corrosion and wear. They can be used in pumps, valves and ceramic bearings in the aerospace, chemical and steel industry.
Silicon nitride balls are mostly used as ball bearings. They exhibit higher tolerances to heat and resistance compared to the best metal bearings available. Due to silicon nitrides low thermal conductivity, the balls undergo expansion 25% that of steel reducing friction and thus heat, which in turn reduces cooling costs.
