Ball Lens Calculations
Effective Focal Length (EFL) of a ball lens:
BFL=EFL-D/2
Where,
EFL= nD/4(n-1)
- BFL is Back Focal Length
- n is refractive index of material
- D is ball lens diameter
- d is light input diameter
The numerical aperture, NA, is dependent of focal length of the ball, NA=2d(n-1)/nD
